(I saw V kissing Santa Claus)

It was a rare occasion for the whole Eurodyne family to be seen in public together anymore. But when Kerry’s label had suggested something family friendly for the different artists to attend with their little ones, he couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

Louis had dresses the kids and helped Vax into a comfortable turtle neck and slacks. He unfortunately still had to look nice but Louise had a knack for making comfy fashionable.

Now Kerry on the other hand? Kerry had been talked into something he wasn’t sure how he was talked into it. It was embarrassing but the smile on Kim’s face and the shared giggles of Louise and Vax made it worth the small amount of embarrassment. At least Ted didn’t have to dress up like an elf, he reminded his oldest when he started laughing.

Poor Kerry was dressed in a Santa suit. He had refused the fake beard but yeah, he had been talked into a Santa costume for the party. His husband and ex wife looked drop dead gorgeous and he looked like a goofy old man. Worth it for the smiles he supposed.

“Hey Santa- sorry Kerry.” Vax grinned, sitting on the arm of the chair Kerry had found himself in. “Having fun?”

“I’d be having more fun if you did the whole Santa thing correctly. Sit on my lap, tell me Whatcha want, pretty boy.” Kerry winked, making his husband roll his eyes.

“It’s a family event, Ker!”

“I’ll behave!”

“You’ve never behaved a day in your life!”

Fair. He supposed. No actually, he was right. Kerry was never known for behaving. He certainly couldn’t be trusted with a hot man in his lap in a tight turtle neck.

The kids partied harder than the adults did, Kim was sound asleep as Kerry carried her up to her bedroom in their home, Louise leading in Ted right behind him. While the parents put the kids to bed, Vax made them some actual drinks to share. It was nice to have a quiet moment.

Louise headed up to bed a short time later, kissing Kerry on the cheek and Vax on the forehead. The husbands were tired, but still wanted a moment alone. They stood by the Christmas tree with their drinks, Kerry humming to the soft jazz playing.

“Reminds me of my first Christmas has a big shot. Was dating some gonk jazz player- don’t give me that look. My taste in men is questionable at best.” Kerry glared.

Vax snorted into his drink. “I coulda told you that, babe.”

“Anyway.” He stated pointedly. “Whatever this is is about ten times better than whatever he played. Sounded like a dying goat.” Kerry finished off his drink and started to unbutton the stuffy jacket when Vax stopped him.

“Wait, I wanna kiss Santa.”

“Freak. Your obsession with older men concerns a lot of people.” Kerry teased, but obliged his man with a soft kiss. The glow of the Christmas tree, the soft jazz just loud enough for them to hear but not loud enough to wake the kids. It was perfect. Kerry had waited for a moment like this since he had met V.

Little did they know, a little lady watched on in horror.

“What’s up, Kimmy? You’ve hardly touched your breakfast.” Kerry asked his little girl, concerned. “You feeling okay?” He pressed his wrist against her forehead. No fever.

“I’m okay.” She whispered, leaning into her father. He scooped her up like she was lightest thing in the worked and hugged her.

“It’s Christmas, baby girl! It’s a good day!” He carried her into the living room to see the tree while the family finished up breakfast and cleaned up.

“Daddy.” Kim stated very seriously. “Do you think Vax loves you?” She asked. A very raw question for a small girl.

“Uh. Yes?” Kerry hoped so?

She made the big puppy dog eyes Kerry used to be known for and looked at him. “I saw him last night. He was kissing someone else!” She looked absolutely distraught.

“…Who?” Kerry asked suspiciously. Vax hadn’t left his side the whole night.

“Santa!” Kim exclaimed, very very seriously.

Kerry stared at his daughter in shock for a second, clenching his jaw to hold back a laugh. He felt hands on his waist and spun around with Kim still in his arms.

“How could you?!”

Vax stumbled over a present in surprise, confused. “I-what?”

“Kissing Santa?! Behind my back?” Over Vax’s shoulder, Kerry could see Louise hiding a laugh in Ted’s hair, the confused teen watching the scene.

“Huh?!” Vax was so utterly confused that Kerry wondered if he had ever heard the song. It was older than the both of them.

“I saw you kissing Santa last night!” Kim accused. “In front of the tree!”

Vax had no idea what to do. Either spoil the magic of Christmas or be in the dog house… neither sounded fun.

“Kimmy… I think I can forgive him. Just this once though.” Kerry smiled, hugging his daughter close. “I’m sure Vax didn’t actually mean it… right, sweetheart.”

“I…don’t know the correct answer to this…” Vax was mortified that Kim had seen that and misunderstood the situation.

“I think if dad forgives him, we all can.” Louise piped in finally, resting a hand on V’s shoulder. “He loves daddy very much.”

“I do, Kimmy. I would never hurt your dad like that. Trust me?” Vax held her arms out, hoping for forgiveness… even though he still wasn’t sure what just happened.

Kim had her arms crossed, glaring hard at her stepdad while she thought.

“I’ll have to look at what you got me and see.” She wiggled out of her dad’s arms in favor of the presents on the floor.

Kerry moved to hug his poor husband, laughing inti his shoulder.

“What the fuck just happened?” He whispered into the rocker’s ear.

“Fatherhood, my love.”

How can I make sure he’s safe forever, how can I make sure he makes it and does well, why am I so scared, why do I get so proud so easily- Kerry looking at Vax probably
